TOWARDS 2008: Activating Students and Young Adults

In the lead up to World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, ACSA has launched its “TOWARDS 2008” PROJECT, which has included the establishment of the Australian Catholic Young Adults Network (ACYA).

Many opportunities exist for ACSA and ACYA to serve the Church before and after World Youth Day. Under the banner of “TOWARDS 2008”, it is hoped that some or all of the following projects will be pursued:

1 - Affiliation of student and young adult groups from parishes, associations and movements into the ACSA and ACYA networks;

2 - Spiritual and social events for students and young adults in each major Australian city;

3 - The release of a regular email newsletter and the creation of a website;

4 - Seminars and national gatherings of students and young adults;

5 - A promotional campaign for WYD2008 specifically targeted at students and young adults;

6 - Intellectual, spiritual and social events during the World Youth Day Festival, specifically targeted at students and young adults.
